My Year In Grill 2.0

My 6th and final year at Primary School in Grill 2.0 was amazing. This year was a very good year and it was

very different to other years. I remember day 1 of grill 2.0 like it was yesterday. I was so nervous and shy. Now it’s very simple to walk in. I also remember camp. It was ok but I would say that the year before was better. Because the boomer trail was 3 hours but they ended it great with a water slide. I also remember our cultural festival with Klacs Crew and Lava. Plus I learned about agency and being agentic. I learned a lot. How about I tell you about the four things this year I learned about. Hauora, Performing, Environment and Cultural Diversity. I also learned how to 3d print. It is really fun. It took a while but I think that it was worth the wait. The classroom was huge. It was the biggest classroom in the school. There were 4 rooms. There was the Hideout, The Hangout, The Hub and the Hall of fame. I personally liked the hub the best. I also really improved in my maths getting 92% out of 100% on stage 8. I still can’t believe it. I also entered an animation into the digi awards. During the process I learned how to use a green screen.

Athletics Day 2016

It’s finally here, Athletics day! I’ve been waiting for this moment from the start of the year. I said to myself before I went out”I’m going to try my hardest for my final athletics day (like every other athletics day)”.

The first events for y6’s was long distance. I would say that these events were in order of my least favourite to favourite (Long Distance,High Jump,Throw,Hurdles,Sprints,Long Jump) except hurdles and sprints I would switch them around, anyway. I am not bad but not good at long distance so I tried my best. I started out good but ended alright with 2 points out 4. Yay!?

The next event was high jump. I thought I sucked at high jump. But I tried my hardest the 1st jump, I made it. Then the 2nd jump came around. I nearly knocked the bar over but still made it. But then when the 3rd jump came I jumped way to early and landed on top of the bar and was eliminated on the final jump I was happy with my performance. After those 2 events it was morning tea.

Next event was throw. Every event I had to wait for ages especially throw so when it was my turn I tried so hard that I nearly hurt my hip. But my throw to me was a good throw. Then I did my second throw and it was basically the same so yeah. average performance.

The next event was hurdles and I would say that I did the best at this plus I got a 4 so anyway. I was in the last race in hurdles. I was up against Ruan, Kristian and Leevi. Wasn't a very tough race for me and that is why I came first and got 4 points.

The next event was sprints. I am ok at sprints. not the best but not the worst. Now once again I was in the last race with Ruan, Kristian and Leevi. But this event. No year 6 boy or girl got a 4. So the highest someone got was 3 and a lot of people got 3 Including me so I was proud.

The final event (Before Relays) was long jump. Now long jump was my favourite event. So I was happy that I finnaly got to do long jump. This was my final athletics event at CSNS. So I was going hard out when I had my attempts and on my last attempt I was pressured by my friends watching but I lept so far so I was happy with myself.

Now It's time. The relays. I was worried for when it was my teams turn (Weka) versing the other teams. Ready,Set,BANG! The relays had started. I was 2nd to last in the line so I had to wait quite a while. It was coming towards my turn so I started jogging forward and then, ZOOM! I was off. I ran as fast as I could and then I passed it to Stevie. She was the final runner for Weka and confirmed that Weka won the year 6 relays. YAY!

I went home from my last CSNS athletics very proud because My team won the relay. I will remember this for a long time

Cultural Festival

Hi Guys, On the 16th of November Grill 2.0 are going to have a cultural festival. This was a task set by our teachers. This will show how divers the world is. For all you guys and gals that don't know what "Diversity" means, it means difference. I picked the food group I'll be there selling traditional Italian pizza & gingerbread men. I am in the group with Ethan, Hugo,Ruan and Scott. We have made a poster about our pizza and now we are making one for the gingerbread men. There will be lots of other things than just food so I'm going to try and visit everything there. The food will all be free because we aren't doing it for the money. We are doing it to learn about cultural diversity and difference in the world.

Athletics Day Practice

Very soon it will be my final athletics day at my school College Street Normal School and I've been practising real hard for it. Also I am in the athletics team for my house Weka. Plus on that day I have to wear my house colour (Red). I want it to be a memorable one. So I will try my hardest. My best performance ever on athletics day was when I came 3rd= in the year 3 boys. I want to try and get the same if not better result than year 3. I hope that you hope me good luck.

Bike Safety

On Wednesday I did a bike safety program with all of the boys from Grill 2.0 (My Classroom). We all got taught the road rules for bikes and we even practised them on a coned out course. It was really fun but we had to do it in the rain. Which actually helped me because it tested more than if it was dry because I always slid when I tired to brake. Anyway we also did a challenge where we had to act if everyone their were strangers and we could not talk to each other for 5 minutes. If you talked you would have to stop riding for 30 seconds and at the end of the day I had to do road patrol because it was my duty day.

Hieroglyphic Narritive

One day Bob flew into India from New Zealand Bob was walking around and Bob saw vulture flying around with it holding something. It was holding a bleeding arm and Bob said ‘OMG did that vulture kill a person’. About 1 hour later Bob found the body of the dead person including the other arm. When the vulture came back for the other arm Bob fended it off away from the body with my door bolt that Bob had got from a dealer for free. It was real handy. When darkness came signalling night making shelter was the first priority. So Bob went around gathering random things in hope of making a decent shelter. So Bob did all he could and when he thought he had done enough he looked at it and thought ‘Wow, I’ve done a great job here. But what he didn’t know was that it was midnight and he really needed to go to sleep. But before he did that with his twisted flax wick that he got from the same trader that gave him a door bolt at the village. he started to make a fire but before he did that he need sticks and logs. It took him a while but he did it and made a fire. After that big day he went to sleep.  

                                             

The next day Bob woke up and outside waiting for Bob was a cobra. Bob didn’t know what to do. He saw a village near by. Bob thought if he could sneak around the cobra he could get to the village and ask the villagers for some directions. So Bob tried to go around the cobra but it bit him. What he didn’t know was that the cobra was poisonous but he was still hurrying. He didn’t know what to do. But then he looked outside and saw a reed leaf bush. He went towards it and luckily the cobra wasn't looking. So Bob grabbed a leaf and threw it away from the village and the cobra followed it

So when the cobra was out of sight Bob ran as fast as he could and when he got there he saw a hospital and ran towards it he told them what happened and got him in with a doctor. the doctor gave him the antidote for it and applied it every day for a month. He stayed in India for that month and when it was over he flew back to New Zealand and lived happily ever after.

It was my birthday 

I got one present from mum

                  Others gave money
